Our Welcoming Staff:

When you come to visit our home, you will be greeted at the door by our courteous  (and quite vocal) Welcoming Staff, Rudolph and Mildred.

When they first joined us, Rudy and Millie, like many younger dogs, were puppies.

Rudy is a Bichon-ShihTzu mix, while Millie is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  As you can readily see from the second rear view above, Rudy is a high-maintenance dog, while Millie is very low-maintenance.

When Millie and Rudy are not greeting visitors and protecting the premises, they like to relax.

Millie and Rudy relax with with "Crazy Aunt Stephanie".

They love to join Edgar in his hammock on the screened porch.

Millie, being a herding dog, is addicted to playing fetch.  If you sit down, she will immediately bring you something to throw. Her Aunt Joanne got her started on socks tied in knots, but almost anything will do if she can't find one of them.  Rudy will occasionally join in, but he's not really into it.

Brownie, a Chihuahua found as a stray, has joined our staff. She was originally intended as a companion for Edgar's Mom, who has wanted a dog for some time. Her recent hospital stay postponed the date that she would be able manage a new family member. But Brownie's overwhelmingly affectionate behavior, and her rapid settling into our household, have made it impossible for us to give her up. So we will be looking for another small dog for Edgar's Mom in a few months. We now have a staff of three.

South Jersey has many lakes and small streams suitable for paddling, so we get out whenever we can.

Although it looks like soap bubbles, it is actually snow on Rudy's legs.

Sometimes it snows rather heavily, much to the joy of Millie and Rudy, although we probably shouldn't expect the same enthusiasm from Brownie.
