New Year's Eve 1990 and Vegas 1992 Grateful Dead Photo Gallery

Does anyone else remember this set of old recycled pianos they had set up at Cal Expo back in 1992? I remember having a blast pounding on them with everyone. What a sweet summer day it was, with ecstatic sunlight everywhere!

Vegas Crowd Shoreline Jerry Photographs on this page were taken primary at the Silver Bowl in Las Vegas back in 1992 (or was that 1991?). I have focused largely on crowd shots here, since I noticed that us Deadheads are typically under-represented in photo collections on the net. People just seem to want to take pictures of Jerry and the Boys, for some reason ;) Well, there are a few of those here too. I faithfully travelled from Tucson to Las Vegas every year from 1990 to 1995. Turns out that the 1995 Las Vegas show was the very LAST Grateful Dead concert I was ever to see! I ran over a rattlesnake on the way back down the highway, in the very same cursed Buick that I just sold! What a blast Vegas was. Well my friends, enjoy the photos!

Bob & Jerry

Many of the photographs below were taken at the 1990-91 New Year's Eve show - the last one with Bill Graham. This concert was my twentieth birthday . What a party it was! The Tribal Chieftain is none other than Bill Graham himself. The drum he's pounding on exploded into fireworks just moments after I shot this photo. I am collecting anything and everything involving New Year's Eve Dead shows, from audio to video tapes. If you're into a trade, let me know!

A quick note aboout these photos: although I happened to be the warm body standing there at the show with a camera, I hereby place these photos in the public domain. I mean, obviously, I have had them on this webpage for years now, I do not expect that anyone would ever pay me money for them now! Besides, in the free spirit of living on this planet, it is better to give and share these few images with all you guys than it is to try and earn a few extra dollars from it. I enjoyed these moments immensely, and these photos are simply a mnemonic device to help me remember how much shear unbounded bliss I felt while I was there at these shows. So, don't even bother to ask if you want to put these images into a bigger compilation web page, book, or WHATEVER your brain may conjure up. I only hope that they bring some enjoyment to you'ns'all.

Finally, unlike some other Dead photo sites out there, I am unable to make physical prints or enlargements of these photos. What you see here is what you get. Some folks DO want to have a nice framed, matted print they can hang on their walls. My enlarger is in two pieces in my closet, and eczema caused by the nasty photo chemicals has caused me to go digital lately. However, if you ARE looking for some photos for sale, there are some excellent and much more extensive collections. Just follow the "More Photos" link below! Cheers!
