Thank you for your interest in this incredible breed! In all my years of being an animal lover and breeder--most of my life--I have never had a more loving, interesting and fun breed than the Lhasa Apso--independent but not self centered, inquisitive but not destructive, loving but not demanding.

As they are non-shedding they need to be groomed. Whether they have longer hair or shorter "puppy cuts" they always look adorable.

These beautiful little friends are solid companions and love to go with you wherever you go. This spunky little dog is small enough, around 15 lbs, some a little smaller or just slightly larger, to be carried but not so small to be unable to run or walk with you. Where there are children, the Lhasa Apso enjoys vigorous romping as well as with any of his adult playmates and is sturdy enough and mentally alert enough to take care of itself despite its size. Although children should be taught, with this breed as with every breed, not to abuse or be "too rough" with them. It has been my experience that Lhasas are not "barkers" but will bark when you come home or someone comes to the door. They were bred to be guard dogs in the palace in Tibet and a favorite companion for Tibetan Monks.

Here are some of the words I use to describe Lhasas: Loyal, loving, companions, friends, intelligent, unique, spunky, beautiful, alert, quick, hardy, responsive, and strives to please.

These are only a few reasons why I love Lhasas. They become a strong part of your family and your heart.

They bring me joy every day. That's why I raise them. If you are interested in bringing this joy to your family, please call me or e-mail me at: deannao@softhome.net.
