Bringing common sense to the politics of Milwaukie!

There are many issues facing the residents of Milwaukie. 2007 promises debate on the transit center location, improving our Riverfront Park, redevelopment of our downtown, and changes overall to our City. A healthy debate is essential for us to make the right decisions. I appreciate the fact that I was re-elected to my position to represent all of Milwaukie with 97 percent of the vote. I take that responsibility with create respect and humility.

I started the Milwaukie Issues Blog site so residents could weigh in on the issues impacting Milwaukie. It is a home where spirited debate is welcome. I understand we may not agree on everything but I hope if you disagree with me you will take the time to let me know personally. I would rather discuss the issues with you then take part in a campaign that only leads to anger and hurt feelings. You can always send me an email or share your concerns on the Milwaukie Issues blog.

As a local teacher, I am concerned over the safety, welfare, and education of all of our young people. We must get them prepared for working in a competitive environment. I have spent the last 11 years of my professional life around teenagers and learn a great deal from them. Our children really are our future.

Finally, I share photos and stories of my family on the linked pages to this site. I am proud of my daughters, excited about watching my grandchildren grow up, and appreciate and love my husband who didn't sign up to deal with political life but has had to deal with many issues anyway. They are the source of my strength and courage to remember that common sense really does have a place in politics.
