recommended links below.
I also encourage you to be cautious about sources of information on the internet,
because many are unreliable. None can substitute the advice of your doctor.
- The American Academy of Family Physicians
offers self-care instructions, drug information and recommendations for healthy living.
- MyElectronicMD is a
self-screening tool that can help prepare you for your doctor visit. Learn which symptoms
require immediate medical care.
- Harvard Medical School provides consumer
health information, including a diseases and conditions toolbar.
- The Family Practice
Symptom Checker advises when to visit a health care provider.
- Medem
maintains a library of healthcare information including an atlas of the body, sponsored by
"the nation's leading medical societies."
- The National Cancer Institute focuses on cancer
types, treatments and clinical trials.
- The American
Heart Association is a resource for cardiovascular disease information.
- The National Institute of Mental Health provides
information on mental disorders.
