ABOUT ME
My hobby consists of all types of Needlearts. My interest in needlearts and other crafts began
when I was very young. It continued throughout my teen years, which is when I taught myself much
of the needlework I do today. Here is a short list and brief description of some of the needlework
I enjoy doing.
- Tatting -
- Using thread and a shuttle or needle to make knots which create lace
- Cross Stitch -
- A form of embroidery using floss (thread) to create designs and pictures on fabric
- Hardanger -
- Pulling out threads on fabric and wrapping to get an open, lacy effect
- Swedish Weaving -
- Going over and under threads in fabric to create designs on the fabric
Here are a few other crafts which I have done in the past.
- Knitting
- long, pointed needles are used to create fabric suitable for sweaters
- Crochet
- a hooked needle is used to create fabric for sweaters and afghans
- Quilting
- geometric shapes are sewn together to make a bed comforter or wall decoration
- Macrame
