GIVEN NAME GOALS
" reflect the goals for various Denny lines as submitted by those tested. There, you will see more specific DNA testing goals for each Denny (and variant) line.
GENERAL GOALS FOR THE DENNY
(AND VARIANT SURNAMES) DNA SURNAME PROJECT
To perform Y chromosome DNA tests on a sampling of men with the
"DENNY"
surname (includes all variants), to calculate the Most Recent Common Ancestor for those surnames with a significant marker match, and to create a report describing the results and said report will then be available to all of our Denny's that participate in the project for analysis and further collaboration.
Determine how many different common male ancestors are associated with the Denny (and variant) surname?
To put the traditional genealogical research to the test! Are the family lines as outlined through paper trails correct? Not all are lineages are correct!
How are your own Denny (and variant) ancestors related to other families with the Denny surname?
To find geographic origins in another continent or country. The tie that binds!
Are all Denny's/Denney's from an ancestral country (particularly England) related, or are there many different families with the name Denny/Denney?
To discover if family tales of famous relatives are true! Too many are not.
Can a connection between the Denny's from England and the Denny's from Ireland (or elsewhere in Europe) be made?
Which Denny/Denney researchers should be collaborating because they share a common ancestor?
Eventually try to determine if any of our tested lines have people that evolve into the "MELUNGEON" bloodlines.
