1. Daniel Searle King (Coachman, Dom Servant, Furniture Packer) was christened on the 11th of December 1854 in Sidlesham, Selsey, Sussex and married in Havant in Oct-Dec 1878 (Volume 2b Page 765) to Emily Amanda Withers of Cavan, Ireland.  Daniel was a witness at Edward's marriage in 1888.  Emily's mother was Emily Withers who was born in Bosham, Sussex in 1824/25.
   • Lilia/Lilian King (Laundry Ironer) was born in 1878/79 in Havant, Hants.
   • Charles King was born in 1880 in Westbourne, Sussex.
   • Topsy King (Brush Maker) was born in Jan-Mar 1883 in Westbourne (Volume 2b Page 445), Sussex.
   • Frederick H. King was born in 1896/97 in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
2. Harriet Jane Searle King was christened on the 6th of December 1857 in St. Marys, Portsea, Hampshire and married in Apr-Jun 1880 in Havant (Volume 2b Page 649) to Charles William Wateridge (Carpenter Joiner).  Charles was born in Oct-Dec 1859 in Millbrook, South Stoneham,  (Volume 2c Page 55) Hampshire.
   • Florence Elizabeth Wateridge was born in Jan-Mar 1884 in Bedhampton, Havant, Hampshire and married in Jan-Mar 1909 in South Stoneham, Hampshire to Walter Harris.
     • Florence E. M. Harris was born in Jul-Sep 1913 in South Stoneham, Hampshire.
   • Edward Lewis Wateridge (Fireman/Stoker on H.M.S. Olympic and H.M.S. Titanic) was born in Oct-Dec 1886 in Millbrook, South Stoneham, Hampshire.  Edward lost his life in the sinking of the Titanic on April 14th or 15th 1912.  
     "Edward Lewis Wateridge, 25yrs old, single, of Millbrook, lost his life tragically on the Titanic 14/15th April 1912, his body was never recovered.  Edward was employed as part of the Titanic's Engine Crew as a Fireman/Stoker".    • George Ernest Wateridge was born in Apr-Jun 1890 in Millbrook, South Stoneham, Hampshire.
   • Dorothy May Wateridge was born Apr-Jun 1895 in Millbrook, South Stoneham, Hampshire.
   • William Wild Wateridge was born in Oct-Dec 1896 in Millbrook, South Stoneham, Hampshire.
   • Gilbert Charles Wateridge was born in Apr-Jun 1900 in Millbrook, South Stoneham, Hampshire.  Gilbert is believed to have died in New Forest, Hampshire in 1985.
3. William King was born on the 20th of March 1860 in ____ and christened on the 10th of August 1862 in Pett, Sussex.
4. Edward King (Domestic Gardener) was born on the 2nd of October and christened on the 29th of November 1863  in Pett, Sussex, England, and married on the 23rd of June 1888 in Portsea, Hampshire to Maria Mist.
5. Elizabeth King was born on the 22nd of June and christened on the 30th of July 1865 in Pett, Sussex and married in Apr-Jun 1893 in Portsea Island (Volume 2b Page 855), Portsmouth to George Lennox C. Brewer.  George was born in Jan-Mar 1867 in Portsea Island (Volume 2b Page 468).  His mother was Annie from Poole in Dorset.  Elizabeth was a witness at Edward's marriage in 1888.  Elizabeth looked after her mum and dad when they were old.
   • Ellen Brewer was born in 1895/96 in Portsmouth.
   • Annie Brewer was born in 1900 in Dungeness, Kent.
6. Walter King (Royal Navy, "Lighthouse Keeper",  Coast Guard) was born on the 20th of August and christened on the 24th of November 1867 in Pett, Sussex and married on the 6th of July 1895 in Portsmouth, Hampshire to Mary Anne Nelms.  Walter died on the 4th of February 1948.  He received a medal during a royal visit in 1903.  Everyone in his family thought that he was a lighthouse keeper when he left the navy, but he was in the coast guard, just like his father.  Mary was born on the 29th of August 1871 in Pennyrheol, Monmouth, Wales/England, and died on the 30th of September 1909 in Greencastle, Moville, Donegal, Ireland.
   • Daniel James King was born on the 16th of September 1896 in Tully-Leterfrack, Galway, Ireland.
   • Walter King (Royal Navy) was born on the 19thof July 1898 in Tully-Leterfrack, Galway, Ireland and married on the 21st of June 1928 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia to Irene Alice Marie Lawson or Laursen.  Walter emigrated to Melbourne, Australia and died on the 29th of August 1973 in Williamstown, Victoria.  Irene was born on the 21st of January 1906 to Anton Laursen and Adelaide Alice Hopwood.
   • Jacob Baden King was born on the 7th of November 1900 in Pennyrheol, Boscombe, Monmouth, Wales/England?
   • Mary Elizabeth King was born on the 30th of May 1902 in Cleggay, Galway, Ireland.
   • Elias King was born on the 17th of December 1903 in Dromard, Sligo, Ireland.  Elias died on the 9th of February 1925.
   • Florence Margarate King was born on the 25th of April 1905 in Derkmore, Dromard, Sligo, Galway, Ireland.
   • Edward Henry King was born in August 1906 in Derkmore, Dromard, Co. Sligo, Ireland.
   • William George King was born on the 21st of October 1907 in Tribane, Dunhinaby, Donegal, Ireland.
7. Ellen King was born in 1869/70 in Atherfield, Isle of Wight, Hampshire.

Edward's family before he was born.  His father is in China with the Royal Navy.  Henry Searle may be a cousin of Edward's father.

1861 Census - H.M.S. Simoom, Whampod, Canton River, China - RG 9/4434 Page 2.

Edward's father, Daniel, is a Quarter Master in the Royal Navy in China.  H.M.S. Simoom is a 3,000 ton, iron-hulled frigate, with 20 guns, launched in 1849, and acting as a troop ship.
