Daniel Searle King (Coachman, Dom Servant, Furniture Packer) was christened on the 11th of December 1854 in Sidlesham, Selsey, Sussex and married in Havant in Oct-Dec 1878 (Volume 2b Page 765) to Emily Amanda Withers of Cavan, Ireland.  Daniel was a witness at Edward's marriage in 1888.  Emily's mother was Emily Withers who was born in Bosham, Sussex in 1824/25.
  2. Harriet Jane Searle King was christened on the 6th of December 1857 in St. Marys, Portsea, Hampshire and married in Apr-Jun 1880 in Havant (Volume 2b Page 649) to Charles William Wateridge (Carpenter Joiner)Charles was born in Oct-Dec 1859 in Millbrook, South Stoneham,  (Volume 2c Page 55) Hampshire.
  3. William King was born on the 20th of March 1860 in ____ and christened on the 10th of August 1862 in Pett, Sussex.
  4. Edward King (Domestic Gardener) was born on the 2nd of October and christened on the 29th of November 1863  in Pett, Sussex, England, and married on the 23rd of June 1888 in Portsea, Hampshire to Maria Mist.
  5. Elizabeth King was born on the 22nd of June and christened on the 30th of July 1865 in Pett, Sussex and married in Apr-Jun 1893 in Portsea Island (Volume 2b Page 855), Portsmouth to George Lennox C. Brewer.  George was born in Jan-Mar 1867 in Portsea Island (Volume 2b Page 468).  His mother was Annie from Poole in Dorset.  Elizabeth was a witness at Edward's marriage in 1888.  Elizabeth looked after her mum and dad when they were old.
  6. Walter King (Royal Navy, "Lighthouse Keeper",  Coast Guard) was born on the 20th of August and christened on the 24th of November 1867 in Pett, Sussex and married on the 6th of July 1895 in Portsmouth, Hampshire to Mary Anne Nelms.  Walter died on the 4th of February 1948.  He received a medal during a royal visit in 1903.  Everyone in his family thought that he was a lighthouse keeper when he left the navy, but he was in the coast guard, just like his father.  Mary was born on the 29th of August 1871 in Pennyrheol, Monmouth, Wales/England, and died on the 30th of September 1909 in Greencastle, Moville, Donegal, Ireland.
  7. Ellen King was born in 1869/70 in Atherfield, Isle of Wight, Hampshire.

Edward's father, Daniel, is a Quarter Master in the Royal Navy in China.  H.M.S. Simoom is a 3,000 ton, iron-hulled frigate, with 20 guns, launched in 1849, and acting as a troop ship.
