In this census, Jane Fraser is listed as "Blind or Deaf and Dumb". It
is highly likely that Jane was deaf, and that this is the explanation why
her maiden surname is always different every time it is listed. A real
mystery solved!

Other Comments
It was quite difficult finding Jane's birth as her maiden name was different
in every record I found. Originally thought that the reason was that she
had a very powerful accent, but as it turns out, Jane was deaf. Since she
probably could not read or write either, her name was never the same and
always incorrect.
