1. James Nairn was christened on the 30th of October 1788 in Stewarton and married on the 11th of April 1817 in Kilmaurs to Jean Gardiner.  James lived in East Lambroughton, Dreghorn in the 1841 and 1851 censuses.  He died there on the 17th of October 1861.  Today, John and Agnes Nairn of Stewarton have James's Bible.  (Chip Rowe)  Jean was born on the 8th of March 1798 in Stewarton to William Gardiner and Mary Frew.  Jean died of chronic bronchitis on the 1st of July 1873 in Law, Fenwick at age 74.
2. Jean Nairn was born on the 18th of May 1790 in Stewarton and married on the 15th of June 1809 in Stewarton to David Clark
3. Ann Nairn was christened on the 13th of January 1793 in Stewarton.  Anne died in 1838 and had nine children.  (Chip Rowe)
4. Janet Nairn was born on the 25th and christened on the 28th of December 1794 in Stewarton.  She lived in Fenwick and Mauchline, died on the 7th of May 1863 or 1865 and is buried in Mauchline.  She had nine children.  (Jean Stoddart)  Janet may have married a Thomas Gemmel on the 23rd of March 1816 in Fenwick..
5. Mary Nairn was born on the 21st of August and christened on the 3rd of September 1797 in Stewarton.  Mary died young.
6. Cuthbert Nairn was born on the 14th and christened on the 19th of May 1799 in Stewarton.  Cuthbert died young.
7. Cuthbert Nairn (Farmer) was born on the 7th of May and christened on the 6th of June 1802 in Bloakhillhead, Stewarton and married on the 25th of December 1821 in Stewarton to Elisabeth Kerr of Dunlop.   Cuthbert was a farmer who lived in Bloakhillhead, Stewarton in 1841 but moved to Grassyards, Mauchline.  He appeared there in the 1851 to 1881 censuses.  His son Robert took over the Grassyards farm sometime in the 1880s.  Cuthbert died on the 8th of December 1889 in Hillhead Cottage, Mauchline.  He was buried in Mauchline on the 11th of December 1889.  Elizabeth was born on the 18th and christened on the 25th of May 1800 in Dunlop to Bryce Kerr and Janet King.
• Cuthbert Nairn was born on the 3rd of February 1824 in Fenwick and married on the 29th of April 1846 in Mauchline to Helen Wyllie.  Helen was born on the 9th and christened on the 12th of August 1824 in Mauchline to William Wylie and Jean Richmond.

  • Matthew Richmond was born at Dykefield Farm, Mauchline, Ayrshire on the 14th of October 1849 and married on the 28th of December 1886 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Emily Elizabeth Harrison.  Matthew emigrated to the USA in 1881 with his brother Cuthbert.  He died on the 1st of November 1928 at 125 Lawn Place, Rockford, Illinois.  Emily was born about 1857 in Nelson, Ontario, Canada.
    • Jessie Marie Richmond was born on the 28th of December 1890 in Palatine, Cook County, Illinois.  Jessie died on the 3rd of December 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
    • Ethel Emeline Richmond was born on the 13th of October 1892 in Illinois, USA.
  • Elizabeth Kerr Richmond was born on the 12th of June 1851 in Ayrshire and married on the 2nd of June 1871 in Mauchline to James Hodge (Farmer).  They farmed at Friendlesshead Farm, Mauchline.  Elizabeth died on the 17th of June 1916 in Friendlesshead, Ayrshire.

  • Cuthbert Richmond was born on the 6th of May 1853 at Dykefield Farm, Mauchline.  He died on the 19th of May 1929 in Mauchline Ayrshire Scotland.  
    "Cuthbert emigrated to USA in 1881.  He sailed from Glasgow, with his brother Matthew, on SS Ethiopia and arrived in New York 1st Feb 1881.  Cuthbert must have enjoyed sailing as he retuned home to Scotland in 1894,1905,1911,1913,1919 and 1920.  On 1909 and 1911 passenger list it states he is a US citizen and living in Palatine, Cook, Illinois.  His occupation in 1894 and 1905 is dairyman.  In 1909 he is retired.  My gran remembered him as Uncle Cuth and he always came home to Scotland when he thought he was dying.

  • Janet Wyllie Richmond was born on the 25th of May 1855 in Mauchline and married on the 23rd of April 1884 at Dykefield Farm, Mauchline to Hugh Mair (Farmer).  Hugh was born on the 23rd of January and christened on the 6th of February 1842 in Mauchline to James Mair and Grizzel Wyllie.  They lived at East Hillhead Farm, Mauchline in 1891 and Muir Farm, Mauchline in 1901.  Janet died on the 2nd of February 1930.
    • Mary "Polly or Pole" Mair was born around 1877 in Mauchline and married around 1899 at Muir Farm to John Borland (Farm Servant).  Mary died on the 11th of April 1937 at Castle Hill Farm, Kirkcubright.

• John Wilson Nairn was born on the 27th of May 1867 in Mauchline.
• Jessie Nairn was born around 1867-69 in Mauchline and married on the 12th of July 1899 in Mauchline to John Richmond.  John was born on the 13th of June 1862 in Coylton to Hugh Richmond and Mary Hay.  No children.  Jessie joined her brother, Cuthbert, where she became the first woman Missionary in Morocco.  John started life as a coal miner, then became a 'go-between' man for the miners and the pit-owners (nowadays this would be a trade union steward), he later worked as a clerk for the old Glasgow & South Western Railway Company, at Ayr.  After meeting and marrying Jessie Nairn, John Richmond took up Christian Missionary work with the Southern Morocco Mission, and the couple were there for several years.  About the time of World War One breaking out, John & Jessie returned to Scotland where John became a Lay Missionary with the Church of Scotland.  John Richmond died 20/02/1945 (aged 82) at Coylton, and Jessie Richmond died 10/06/1954 (aged 92) at Cumnock.

She and her colleagues had been working in the Dades Valley region of Morocco focusing on medical work. • Elizabeth Kerr Nairn was born on the 5th of August 1862 in Sorn and married in 1888 in Sorn to Robert Morton.  There are may Elizabeth Kerr Nairns.  I am assuming that this is the one who married Robert Morton.

• Cuthbert Nairn was born on the 25th of November 1868 in Sorn.
• Robert Nairn was born on the 2nd of February 1872 in Sorn.
• Margaret Nairn was born on the 16th and christened on the 23rd of February 1834 in Stewarton.
• John Nairn was born on the 9th and christened on the 22nd of May 1836 in Stewarton.  John may have married an Agnes Hyslop on the 18th of December 1861 in Sorn, Ayrshire, then later had several children in Dreghorn.
• Robert Nairn was born on the 21st of October and christened on the 11th of November 1838 in Stewarton and married on the 22nd of January 1864 in Mauchline to Mary Jamieson.  Mary was born on the 18th of June 1843 in Tarbolton to William Jamieson and Martha Brownlee.  Robert took over the Grassyards farm in Mauchline from his father, sometime in the 1880s.

John Nairn (Farmer) was born on the 5th and christened on the 8th of September 1805 in Stewarton and married on the 11th of December 1852 in Stewarton to Janet Tweed Miller.  John signed a will on the 22nd of December 1874 and again on the 4th of January 1888 in West Bloakhillhead.  He died on the 21st of June 1886 in Bloakhillhead.  Janet was born on the 17th of February and christened on the 25th of March in Stewarton to John Miller and Lillias Tweed.

• Cuthbert Nairn (Farmer) was born on the 21st of September 1855 in Stewarton.
