- William Mackie was born on the 5th and christened on the 12th of December 1824 in Stewarton.
- Janet Mackie was christened on the 8th of April 1827 in Stewarton, Ayrshire. Janet died in 1829 as an infant of drowning.
- Thomas Mackie (Jobbing Dyer & Grocer) was christened on the 3rd of May 1829 in Stewarton, Ayrshire and married on the 16th of November 1850 in Stewarton to Jane "Jeanie" Wylie (Sewer Cotton). Jane was born on the 1st and christened on the 13th of November 1831 in Stewarton to James Wylie and Isabel Dunlop. Thomas died in 1902. Jane in 1911. Thomas and Jeanie are buried in St. Columba's Cemetery in Stewarton.
- Isabella Dunlop Mackie was born in 1851 in Stewarton and married in 1877 in Stewarton to James Laughland. Isabella died in childbirth in 1889. James was born in 1849. They had six children and moved to Mount Florida in Glasgow. James later married Isabella's younger sister Helen.
- Janet Gemmel Mackie was born in 1853 in Stewarton.
- Thomas Mackie (Wool Dyer) was born in 1854 in Stewarton and married in 1878 in Stewarton to Agnes Riddell Morrison. Agnes was born in 1855. Thomas and Agnes both died in 1944.
- Jane Wylie Mackie was born on the 28th of July 1856 in Stewarton and married in 1883 to Robert Williamson Miller (Draper). Robert was born in 1859 and was from Motherwell. Jane died in 1886.
- Helen Wylie Mackie was born on the 9th of November 1858 in Stewarton and was married sometime after 1889 in Jersey to James Laughland, the widower of Helen's elder sister Isabella.
- Marion Mackie was born on the 30th of December 1860 in Stewarton. Marion died of tuberculosis in 1865.
- Margaret Mackie was born on the 17th of January 1863 in Stewarton and married in ____ to William Weir (Bank Clerk). William was from Kirkconnel and died in 1934.
- Mary Muir Mackie (Dyer's Clerk and Grocer's Assistant) was born on the 14th of March 1865 in Stewarton and married in ____ to William Crow (Tailor's Apprentice and Commercial Traveller). William is believed to have been born on the 19th of February 1862 in Govan to Gavin Crow and Ann Wyllie. Mary died in 1914.
- Marion Wylie Mackie was born on the 9th of July 1867 in Stewarton. Marion did not marry, and died in 1899 at age 32.
- James Wylie Mackie (Company Director) was born on the 17th of July 1870 in Stewarton and married in ____ to Margaret "Maggie" Oliver Sim. James was the Provost of Stewarton between 1926 and 1935. James died in 1941. Maggie was born in 1877 and died in 1954.
- Robert Mackie was born on the 8th of November 1873 in Stewarton but died in 1875 at age 2.
- Janet Laughton Mackie (Shopwoman) was christened on the 20th of March 1831 in Stewarton, Ayrshire. Janet died of epilepsy on the 4th of May 1872 in Stewarton at age 41. Janet was single. Perhaps Janet worked in her older brother's grocer's shop.
- James Bryce Mackie (Hatter) was christened on the 1st of December 1833 in Stewarton, Ayrshire. James emigrated to Melbourne, Australia and was part of the Ballarat gold rush in 1851.
- David Mackie (Dyer) was born in 1836 in Stewarton, Ayrshire.
- John Mackie was born in 1838 in Stewarton, Ayrshire.
- Margaret Kelly Mackie was born in 1840 in Stewarton, Ayrshire. Margaret was an unmarried housekeeper in 1871.

street. Robert is co-founder of what will become a large bonnet
manufacturing business in Stewarton. This business is still in operation today and is now
"Robert Mackie and
Co. (Knitwear) Ltd" at Holm Mill in Stewarton.

James's brother Thomas has moved to Stewarton, and shares a house with James's son William. They appear to be sharing different apartments of the same house in Holmstreet.
Not sure exactly what the link to the
Shields family is yet. Janet Gemmel (60) was from Irvine, and a William
Shields married an Isabella Gemmel in Irvine in 1827. Isabella could be
Janet's sister, and William Shields (28) may be their son, and hence Janet's
nephew. Robert Shields married Jean Smith on the 5th of July 1823 in
Stewarton, and then a Wylie Ramsay on the 14th of September 1850 in Stewarton.
Wylie Ramsay had previously married a Peter Sillers on the 3rd of February 1824
in Stewarton.
