Ethel Mary Clarke was born on the 22nd of January 1890 in Sheet, Hampshire and married on the 1st of August 1908 in Croydon, Surrey to John Wiles.  A William Coombridge was present at their wedding.  Ethel died of a tumor in Croydon, Surrey on the 22nd of August 1925.  John later married Ethel's sister Beatrice who was widowed with six children.
  2. Beatrice "Beat" Harriett Clarke was born on the 24th of March 1892 in Havant (Volume 2b Page 413) and married on ____ in ____ to ____ ____.

  3. Beatrice married her older sister Ethel's husband when Ethel died. She looked after Ethel's children and had some children of her own. Beatrice died around 1972. They moved to Croydon in London. Beat suffered from diabetes.
  4. Agnes "Aggie" Mary Clarke was born on the 16th of March 1896 in Havant and married in 1916 in Havant to Sidney Ernest King.
  5. William "Bill" John Clarke was born in Jan-Mar 1899 in Havant (Volume 2b Page 395) and married on ____ in ____ to Gladys "Glad" ____.

  6. William was a Carpenter and lived into his 80s. Gladys was from the Isle of Wight. They lived at No. 1 Cottage, Main Road, Bedhampton and then at 15 Stockheath Way in Havant. Registered his father's death in 1935.  A William John Clarke died in 1988 at age 89 in the Portsmouth registration district.  His birth date is given as the 21st of November 1898.
  7. Gertrude "Gert" May Clarke was born in Oct-Dec 1902 in Havant (Volume 2b Page 392) and married in ____ to Douglas Cranton.

  8. Douglas was a Police officer in Havant. They moved to Hamble in Southampton, then Portswood in Southampton. Lost touch with the family, but may have died in Chichester.

At 105 years of age, Agnes was the oldest person in the parish of Havant, and received two telegrams from the Queen.  Her life spanned three different centuries.  

She was a widow for more than 50 years.

If she had lived a few hundred years ago, she would have been burned as a witch!  Aggie had a talent for foreseeing the future.  Read tea-leaves.
