State of New York
Green County

Personally appeard before me Thomas Barker on of the justices appointed to the peace for the county Green, David Baldwin who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that on the Seventh day of April last he went by request of Elnathan Fitch to survey two hundred acres of land lying east of a patent granted to Jury taken for which reason he meant to go strictly according to his first request to the Commissioners of the Land Office which was to take the two hundred acres so as to bring the Plata Kill where it entered into the patent granted to Jury about in the center of the two hundred acres that he wanted surveyed. We in a part of an improvement said to be Joseph Desylvies, bit I did not form any idea as to the number of acres. There was not any buildings on the improvements we took in (unless) it was a small cabin. After we had done surveying I heard Mr. Fitch tell Joseph Desylvie that if he would give him thirty dollars he would move his location with the consent of the commissioners of the land office, which would not be what it would cost him to remove it, for the surveying and all other expenses and further this deponant saith not.
Sworn before me the 16 day of June 1800.
