In Book 2 page 169 of the West Greenwich Land Records on March 10 1797, recorded May 17, 1797 Benjamin sold the land land: - I Benjamin Rouse of West Greenwich, yeoman, in consideration of the sum of 70 pounds lawful money sell to Stafford Green of West Greenwich in the county of Kent, yeoman, a certain tract of land about 70 acres bounded as follows beginning begriming at a heap of stones which is the northeast corner of said lot of land adjoining land of T.J. Loss and Nicholas, Esq., northward on land of Stuckley Ladsen, Esq running west till it meets the Fry or Jenkins land so called west on said land running south to the highway laugh, southerly on a highway to the southern most comer of said Nichols lands, east on land of said Nichols to the first mentioned corner

William Edwin Adams
William Edwin Adams died on 29 December 1895 at age 67 in Petoskey, Emmet, Michigan.1
His obituary was published on 1 January 1896;
Petoskey Record 1 Jan 1896; "Mr. William E Adams who moved here last spring, died on Monday morning at 3 o'clock of carbuncle on the neck, aged 68 years lacking ten days. Mr. Adams was born in Luffborough, England, and when 4 years of age left the old country with his mother, brother, and sister for America. The vessel was wrecked and his mother and sister were lost, himself and little brother being saved by a couple of brave sailors, and brought to Boston. In 1858 he removed to Bellvue, Canada, & afterwards established the first knitting mill in the Dominion at Ancaster. In 1888 he moved to Detroit & settled, but for reasons of health decided to make Petoskey his permanent home, & last spring purchased 10 acres next west of Dr Engle's property on Kalamazoo Ave, & this fall completed one of the best residences in the city, in which he was expected to pass the remaining years of a life which promised to extend into a green old age, for he was an exceptionally vigorous man. The funeral service was held at the residence at 8 o'clock on Wednesday morning. Rev R S McGregor officiating, & the remains accompanied by the family left on the 9:20 train on the G R & I for Paris, Ontario, where the interment will take place. Mr. Adams was a member of the Methodist church, & leaves a wife & 6 children, 4 sons & 2 daughters, of which one, John W Adams is a resident of Petoskey."
He was buried in Paris Cemetery, Paris, Ontario, Canada.2

Paris Star: "YMCA - Entertainment - Our president Mr. W.E. Adams occupied the chair, & opened the meeting with devotional exercises & a striking address. Mr. Adams is well known in the work of the YMCA, & the young people of Paris are proud of him as a leader. His abilities to arouse the dormant energies of young men's souls is more than words can express, we have felt his strains of love upon our own souls, arousing us to zeal & order for the work of Christ. May God spare him for many years as a blessing to our young men."7
From the Minutes of the Paris Curling Club: "The notable event in the history of the club last season was the presentation by the Worthy Patron William E Adams Esq. of a very handsome silver cup to be competed for annually by the members of the club.8 In 1888 William Edwin Adams resided in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.

Marion Leighton Hanscom died on 17 June 1918 at age 90 in Petoskey, Emmet, Michigan.1
Her obituary was published on 18 June 1918;
Mrs. M A Adams dies at Ninety. Was much loved for gentle kindness. Services at the home this evening; body will be taken to Canada for burial. Mrs. Marian A Adams, much loved in Petoskey for 24 years because of the sweetness & gentleness of her nature, died last evening at 9:30 o'clock at the home of her son and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. W H Adams, 330 West Madison St, aged 90 years. Services will be held at the home this evening at 7:30 o'clock, Rev Henry Candler & Rev J W Leonard officiating. Interment will be at Paris Ont. Buried by three sons. Mr. Adams will leave with the remains on the GR & I 8:35 train tomorrow morning for Windsor, Canada, where he will meet his brothers who reside there, & the trio will accompany the body to its final resting place. Mrs. Adams was born at Eliot, ME April 28, 1828. She was the widow of the late William E Adams, who died here December 31, 1895. They came to Petoskey in 1894 & purchased a home on Kalamazoo Ave. When her home at the corner of Rush St & Waukazoo Ave was burned 8 years age Mrs. Adams took up her residence with her son. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Petoskey Methodist Episcopal church. She had been far from well for some time, & had been in serious condition several weeks. She is survived by 3 sons & 2 daughters, W H Adams being the only one living in Michigan. The others have been notified. They are C E Adams & J W Adams, Windsor, Can; Mrs. L J Sheridan, Superior, WI & Mrs. C B Capron, Lincoln, Neb."2
