Hermon W. Tingley, 99, of 28 Central Ave., a sales representative for the former W.E. Barrett Co., Providence, and later for the former Ben Brown Co., East Providence, before retiring in 1970, died yesterday at the Evergreen Nursing Home, East Providence. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Stone) Tingley.

Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Leon H. and Maude E. (Walker) Tingley, he lived in Seekonk most of his life.

Mr. Tingley was a member of Newman Congregational Church, East Providence. He was a member of Ezekial Bates Lodge, AF & AM, Attleboro. He was an Army veteran of World War I and served in France.

He leaves a daughter, Phyllis T. Benson of Seekonk; four grandchilren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral and burial will be private.
