     John Martin Bauer immigrated circa 1830 to Pennsylvania. He was naturalized on 3 August 1835 at York, York, Pennsylvania. He bought property on 11 January 1839 at Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio, In-lots west of Wilkinson and north of First St in Dayton to John Martin Bauer from Herman Mossiness and Gordon Arnold Morrison.³ He appeared on the census of 1840 at Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio.⁴ He bought property on 7 April 1841 at Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio, Elisha Brown to John M Bauer for $1,300.00 part of fraction and section no. 33 in Township two Range six East, situate on the west bank of the Great Miami river. Planted stone on bank of river near where Salem road intersects, thence downriver S33 W28 poles, thence S42 W17 1/2 poles to a planted stone on the bank of the river [ ] contains 5 acres, 2 roods, and 17 poles.⁵

     Florence Houghton was born circa 1872 in Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Houghton and Jane Houghton.¹
     Florence Houghton appeared on the census of 1880 at Will, Will, Illinois, as the daughter of the head of the household, Henry Houghton.¹

     Leonard Sovereign was born on 29 January 1763 in Schooley's Mountain, Morris, New Jersey. He was the son of Frederick Sovereign and Ann Waldruff. Leonard Sovereign married Rhuhama Culver, daughter of Joseph Culver and Phoebe *Unknown*, in 1788 in New Jersey. Leonard Sovereign died on 2 January 1823 at age 59 in Waterford, Ontario, Canada. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.

     Rhuhama Culver was born on 17 November 1766 in New Jersey. She was the daughter of Joseph Culver and Phoebe *Unknown*. Rhuhama Culver married Leonard Sovereign, son of Frederick Sovereign and Ann Waldruff, in 1788 in New Jersey. Rhuhama Culver died on 10 November 1828 at age 61 in Waterford, Ontario, Canada. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.

     Frederick Sovereign was born in 1730 in Germany. He married Ann Waldruff in 1749 in Germany. Frederick Sovereign married Lovina (Lavina) Culver on 10 May 1768 in Schooley's Mountain, Morris, New Jersey.¹ Frederick Sovereign died on 25 October 1805 in Townsend, Ontario, Canada.

     Lovina (Lavina) Culver was born circa 1740 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She married Frederick Sovereign on 10 May 1768 in Schooley's Mountain, Morris, New Jersey.²

     Elizabeth Waterman was born on 27 July 1808 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont. She was the daughter of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Elizabeth Waterman married Milo Marsh, Jr. on 25 December 1828 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.

     Lucia Waterman was born on 3 March 1810 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont. She was the daughter of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Lucia Waterman married Alvin West on 22 September 1839 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont. Lucia Waterman died in Stoughton, Dane, Wisconsin.

     Elijah Clark Waterman was born on 2 January 1812 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.¹ He was the son of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Elijah Clark Waterman married Martha Elizabeth Hall on 8 February 1837 in Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin.¹ Elijah Clark Waterman died on 6 April 1861 at age 49 in Plainfield, Waushara, Wisconsin.¹

     Marcia Waterman was born on 9 February 1814 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.¹ She was the daughter of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Marcia Waterman married George Goodhue. Marcia Waterman died on 16 January 1906 at age 91 in Spokane, Spokane, Washington.¹

     Caroline Melinda Waterman was born on 29 May 1821 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.¹ She was the daughter of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Caroline Melinda Waterman died on 6 April 1862 at age 40.¹

     Thomas Emerson Waterman was born on 16 April 1823 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.¹ He was the son of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Thomas Emerson Waterman died on 25 March 1840 at age 16.¹

     Carlos Franklin Waterman was born on 30 July 1826 in Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.¹ He was the son of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp. Carlos Franklin Waterman died in Elroy, Juneau, Wisconsin.¹

     Martha Elizabeth Hall married Elijah Clark Waterman, son of John Waterman and Melinda Knapp, on 8 February 1837 in Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin.¹
     Martha Elizabeth Hall was also known as Betsey Hall.

     Ora Clarke Waterman was born on 9 October 1838 in Beloit, Rock, Wisconsin.¹ He was the son of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. Ora Clarke Waterman married Harriet Caroline Elmer.¹ Ora Clarke Waterman died on 11 May 1926 at age 87 in Montana.¹

     Sidney Carlos Waterman was born on 30 March 1840 in Beloit, Rock, Wisconsin.¹ He was the son of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. Sidney Carlos Waterman married Mary Horton Adams on 8 December 1867 in Plainfield, Waushara, Wisconsin.¹ Sidney Carlos Waterman married Margaret L. Webb Bean on 25 December 1895 in Delafield, Waukesha, Wisconsin.¹ Sidney Carlos Waterman died on 21 August 1914 at age 74 in Plainfield, Waushara, Wisconsin.¹

     Alvin West Waterman was born on 20 September 1841 in Beloit, Rock, Wisconsin.¹ He was the son of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. Alvin West Waterman married Eva Maria Webster on 7 December 1871 in Fargo, Cass, North Dakota.¹ Alvin West Waterman died on 25 October 1904 at age 63 in Seattle, King, Washington.¹

     William Walter Waterman was born on 12 August 1846 in Beloit, Rock, Wisconsin.¹ He was the son of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. William Walter Waterman died on 5 May 1864 at age 17 in Battle of the Wilderness, Spotsylvania County, Virginia.¹

     James Monroe Waterman was born on 14 February 1849 in Plainfield, Waushara, Wisconsin.¹ He was the son of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. James Monroe Waterman died on 11 April 1890 at age 41 in Wisconsin.¹

     Lucia Jane Waterman was born on 28 February 1857 in Plainfield, Waushara, Wisconsin.¹ She was the daughter of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall. Lucia Jane Waterman married Allen Jenkins on 2 July 1877.¹ Lucia Jane Waterman died on 14 September 1934 at age 77.¹

     Allen Jenkins was born on 31 March 1843 in Ohio.¹ He married Lucia Jane Waterman, daughter of Elijah Clark Waterman and Martha Elizabeth Hall, on 2 July 1877.¹
