     Ella Evelyn Capron was born on 16 July 1877 in Shawnee County, Kansas.¹ She was the daughter of Arba Gilmore Capron and Evalina Elmira Vance.² Ella Evelyn Capron married John Polson Havens on 18 May 1899 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas.^1,2 Ella Evelyn Capron died on 6 September 1972 at age 95 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California.¹
     Ella Evelyn Havens appeared on the census of 1910 at Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas, as the wife of the head of the household, John Polson Havens.³

     John Polson Havens was born on 26 June 1877 in Effingham, Effingham, Illinois.^1,2 He married Ella Evelyn Capron, daughter of Arba Gilmore Capron and Evalina Elmira Vance, on 18 May 1899 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas.^1,2 John Polson Havens died on 23 March 1943 at age 65 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas. He was shot and killed by Daniel W. Johnson, a passanger coach service man for the Santa Fe Railroad. Johnson committed suicide after killing Havens and wounding Harry W. Townsend, an electrical foreman at the Santa Fe yards. The day before, Havens had questioned Johnson about a purse that had been reported missing from a passenger train which had not been turned in to Havens' office.¹

     Helen Louise Havens was born on 1 December 1906 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas.² She was the daughter of John Polson Havens and Ella Evelyn Capron.¹ Helen Louise Havens married Wayne Flook Whistler on 10 December 1924 in Shawnee County, Kansas.^1,2 Helen Louise Havens died on 19 January 2004 at age 97 in Glendora, Los Angeles, California.²
     

     Biographical Notes for Helen Louise Havens: Helen Havens, an only child, and was doted on by her parents, aunts and uncles. Her father, John Polson Havens, worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for over 48 years. He was coach yard foreman for the Santa Fe yards in Argentine, Kansas when he was killed by a deranged employee on March 23, 1943. His widow, Ella (Capron) Havens, lived with Wayne and Helen Whistler for many years on Long Beach. She lived to be 95 and was known as "Ma" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     After her husband's death, Helen (Havens) Whistler resided in LaVerne, California. While still in her 80's, Helen danced in a senior dance group called the "Silver Frolics." She enjoyed playing cards and solving crossword puzzles with her family and friends. She died at the age of 98. She appeared on the census of 1910 at Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas, as the daughter of the head of the household, John Polson Havens.³

     Wayne Flook Whistler married Helen Louise Havens, daughter of John Polson Havens and Ella Evelyn Capron, on 10 December 1924 in Shawnee County, Kansas.^1,2 Wayne Flook Whistler died on 1 January 1975 in Los Angeles County, California.
     

     Biographical Notes for Wayne Flook Whistler: Wayne Flook Whistler and his brothers were orphaned when both parents died when the boys were in their teens. A local Burlington doctor offered to adopt Wayne and send him to college but his grandparents, Garland and Mary Whistler, were unwilling to separate the brothers and took them into their home. Wayne Whistler attended the Missouri School of Mines for a short time but had to drop out due to lack of funds. He returned to Kansas City where he met and married Helen Louise Havens in 1924. Wayne worked as a fireman on the railroad in Kansas City and as an engineer in the Santa Fe railroad shops in Topeka. When the shops closed during the Depression, he worked at odd jobs to support his wife and children. The family moved to Long Beach, California in 1941 where Wayne found a job as an electrician. After living thirty-two years in Long Beach, Wayne and Helen Whistler moved to Glendora, California. Wayne died of lung cancer on January 1, 1975, just twenty days after celebrating his fiftieth wedding anniversary. Wayne's son, Wayne John Whistler, remembered his father as being very skilled at building things, both mechanical and electrical. Wayne Flook Whistler was an avid ham radio operator.²

     Biographical Notes for Wayne John Whistler: Wayne John Whistler was born in Kansas City, Kansas but moved to California with his parents when he was fifteen. He served in the Navy in World War II as a radio... After the war, he received a B.S. in electronics from San Jose State University. He worked for the Perkin-Elmer corporation for over 20 years. After his retirement, Wayne Whistler became very involved in community philanthropy and served as District Governor for Rotary.

     William Berkeley Whistler was born on 19 August 1928 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas.¹ He was the son of Wayne Flook Whistler and Helen Louise Havens. William Berkeley Whistler died on 17 April 1997 at age 68 in Huntington Beach, Orange, California.¹

     Vivian Marie Whistler was born on 27 March 1956 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California.¹ She was the daughter of Wayne John Whistler and Annette Victoria Shirley. Vivian Marie Whistler died of breast cancer on 29 June 2001 at age 45 in Claremont, Los Angeles, California.¹

     Cheryl Lynn Whistler is the daughter of Wayne John Whistler and Annette Victoria Shirley.

     Brian Wayne Whistler is the son of Wayne John Whistler and Annette Victoria Shirley.

     Asa Bullock was born on 3 October 1822 in Ellisburg, Jefferson, New York. He married Rosalinda Capron, daughter of Edward Capron and Martha *Unknown*, on 19 June 1850 in Copley, Summit, Ohio. Asa Bullock died on 20 May 1895 at age 72 in Ohio.
