As I said on the previous page, there are no copies of the Brinkley Argus prior to 1896. However, in later editions the paper would occasionally run a retro section - sometimes it would be called "Ten Years Ago", sometimes "Twenty Years Ago", and so on. I've taken the information below from those sections. It's kind of a "hodge-podge" of stuff. I've tried to make the page easy to look through. MARRIAGE
April 5, 1907

BERGMAN-CREAGER  A very quiet home wedding occured on Thursday evening last at 8:30 o'clock
at the residence of Mr. R.J. Hankins on West Ash Street.  The contracting parties were Mr.
Paul BERGMAN and Mrs. Julia CREAGER, Rev. T.H. Howard officiating.  The happy couple left on
the "Cannon Ball" immediately for Goliad, Texas where they will spend a few days visiting
family.

DEATH

Last week we failed to notice the death of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.E. NEAGLE,
which sad event occured on Sunday.  The Argus extends its sympathy to them.

September 14, 1906 Retro section of the paper called "Eleven Years Ago in Brinkley" - September, 1895 We are sorry to announce the death of the 5 month old infant of Mr. and Mrs. PUGH

May 25, 1906 Retro section of the paper called "Twelve Years Ago" - from 1894 Mr. and Mrs. Wash SNYDER mourn the death of an infant son, which occurred on Saturday last. Sorrowing parents have the sympathy of the ARGUS and many other warm friends in their severe loss.

December 14, 1906 Retro section of the paper called "14 years ago in Brinkley" - from December 15, 1892 Died: On Sunday morning last, an infant son of Dr. and Mrs. V.E. SUMPTER. Services were held at the residence by Rev. T.J. Brickell.

September 7, 1906 Retro section of the paper called "News in Brinkley 11 years ago" - from Sept. 12, 1895 Mrs. E.E. TROTTER died suddenly Wednesday morning at her home in Holly Grove. She was complaining and did not get up for breakfast. About the middle of the forenoon, she was found dead in her bed. It is supposed she died of neuralgia of the heart.


BIRTH
