J.A. Lors Notice
Was committed to the jail of Crittendon
county at Marion on the 19th of October,
1840, as a runaway slave, a negro man
who calls his name Henry. Said negro is
about 23 years old, of dark complexion,
stout built, 5 feet, 6 or 8 inches high,
and says he belongs to one of Mr. MARE,
a negro trader in the state of Alabama.
The owner of said negro is requested to
come forward, prove property, pay
charges, and take him away, otherwise
he will be disposed as the law directs.

Sheriff and Jailor's Notice
Was committed to the custody of the
undersigned, as Sheriff and Jailor of
Mississippi county, Ark., on the 15th
of November last, as a runaway slave,
a negro man, who calls his name,
Harrison - aged about 20 or 23
years - 5 feet, 7 or 8 inches high -
weighs about 140 or 150 lbs - is
crippled in the right hand.
The above described negro says that he
belongs to one John Burrass, who lives
in the state of South Carolina.
The owner of said negro is requested
to come forward, prove property, pay
charges and take him away, otherwise
he will be dealt with as the law directs.
