Sandy's Journey December 2001 and January 2002

| I'm back... thanks to all of you who responded to my last
update and asked that I continue showing my progress. I'll continue as
long as I have something different or significant in my hair journey to
show you or tell you about.
At my last retightening session, Sheila told me that my locks were ready
for grooming. So on December 19th I went to Everette's for a retightening/grooming
session. Grooming is when the consultant goes over each lock individually
and snips any loose hairs or fuzzies -- giving the locks a more manicured
look. Since I was having my hair retightened at the same time, this
appointment took a bit longer than my normal retightenings. I thought
I loved my hair before, but after seeing my locks after they've been groomed,
well... I didn't think it was possible, but I love it even more!
OK... now for some pictures after my grooming session. I hope these
pictures show the difference clearly.
Because all the loose hair and fuzzies have been snipped off, the locks are neater and they seem to have less volume. But this lack of volume is also due to just having it retightened. As it grows out and I get a little new growth at the base, I'm guessing it will add a little more volume to my look. I'll take pictures in two or three weeks and add them to this page so we can see if I'm right about this. Sheila said the locks only need grooming once a year, and it's not a
requirement. It just depends on the look that the customer wants.
I like it and will definitely have my locks groomed annually.
January 8, 2002 As promised, I've taken pictures a few weeks after my grooming session:
January 13, 2002 And here's another one taken today (a week after the roller set). The curls are pretty much gone, but I've got enough new growth to give some volume to the top. I'm free-stylin' again and I love it!
I got three compliments today, and didn't even tie my hair up last night or roll it or anything! In case I haven't mentioned it lately,
