Italian reinforcements, replacements and extra elements:
All enemy Italian states also raise one new consular army (2 DBA standard armies)
each year. When the nation enters the war, a die roll of 1,2,3 indicates
the nation uses the Polybian list (II/33) and 4,5,6 indicates it uses the
Marian List (II/49). Destroyed Italian 3Cv, 4Bd, and 4Sp elements, and Polybian
2Ps elements are replaced at the Roman 1:2 rate in each round. Extra Italian
elements generated by various procedures under ‘Extra Enemies’ must
be taken from the Roman mercenary list. An Italian city garrison is 2x4Ax;
an Italian capital garrison is 1 DBA army of the appropriate type for that
nation. If an Italian nation seizes a city in Near Gallia that Italian nation
may take extra elements from the auxilia and allies available in that province.
If the Italians completely defeat the governor of Near Gallia, they can continue
this northern offensive into Further Gallia, Gallia Narbonese, Spain etc
with the Italian War Potential Enemy/Raider list for Near Gallia becoming
the Italian War list for the next province. Similarly, if the Italians completely
defeat the governor of Sicilia, they may continue into Africa.
Italian states make peace separately, unless the Marsii, Etruscans, Paegilini, and Picentii and Samnites have all been forced to sue for peace. This combo event ends the entire war. The capital of Italica is the city of Corfinium in Paegelini. It can only be reached by conquering Etruria, Samnia or Marsia, or by forces outside Italy landing on the east cost, establishing an eastern command, or by the Near Gaul army conquering Picentia, or moving through Picentia.
Once the Italian state enters the war and the army type is established, the Italian troops use the normal aggression for their army type (3 for Marian and 4 for Polybian).
While the Italian war is going on, all Roman armies function under the Manpower
Shortage in Italy event. Italian armies use the normal list.
These are the troops provided by the Senate to a new Praetorian governor, and twice this amount are provided to a new consular governor. Elements in Bold are Roman. A consular governor may choose a different combinations of 4Ax, 2Ps, 2LH for his two DBA armies.
