Collision Imminent! was written as the "Build Your Own Game" at Intercon 15.5. That means that a panel was convened on Friday night, June 30th of 2000, to determine what the game would be. The panel was facilitated by:

Once the game subject was chosen, it was time to write. Since the game was destined to be run on Sunday morning, that meant that the pressure was on. Collision Imminent! was written, in time, to an enthusiastic and successful run, by the Imagineerium Team on July 2nd, 2000:

After the success at Intercon 15.5, Collision Imminent! was brought back for Intercon A, on March 10, 2001. The run was organized by Jeff Diewald, Michael McAfee and Mark Waks. The game materials were reorganized for easier production. Some additional materials were added to the game, mainly in the Horde. The game was run by Jeff Diewald, Michael McAfee, Uncle Don Ross, Alex Thorn, and Mark Waks, with enthusiastic results.
Further additional GM notes were added after the Intercon A run, so that the game can be rerun elsewhere!
The Arisia '03 run of Collision Imminent! was organized by Jeff Diewald, Tim Lasko, Michael McAfee and Mark Waks. It was another wonderful success, running on January 17th, 2003. We'd like to thank Alex Bradley and Susan Giusto for some new ideas that made it into the Horde. We'd also like to thank Julie and Jordan Diewald for their assistance with building props for the game, for lugging those props to Arisia, and for helping to set up and run the game. We'd also like to thank Rebecca Kletnieks for her help in coordinating with Arisia, and for stepping in as an assistant GM when we needed some help.
The OurCon XII run of Collision Imminent! was organized by Jeff Diewald, Tim Lasko, Michael McAfee and Uncle Don Ross. It was a fine sunny April 12th in 2003, where we learned that the game was more robust than we imagined. We want to thank Greg Walek for the assistance, patience and support it took to get the game out to UMass Amherst. We met a lot of nice people there.
The WPI SFS run of Collision Imminent! was organized by Jeff Diewald, Tim Lasko, Josh Rachlin, Uncle Don Ross, and Alex Thorn. Mike Wixon and Conor Walsh were the WPI folks who made this run happen. The game is so well-organized at this point that we can produce it in just a couple days. We had a lot of fun on the afternoon of November 15th, 2003, with a number of new faces.
The Dexcon VII run of Collision Imminent! was organized by Lynn Anslow, Jeff Diewald and Tim Lasko. The game ran on July 17th, 2004. Lynn was new to running the Horde and she handled it fabulously. The New Jersey crowd had a great time playing, and there were many wonderful comments afterwards.
The Intercon G run of Collision Imminent! is being organized by Jeff Diewald, Susan Giusto, Tim Lasko, and Barry Tannenbaum of TNT Productions. You really want to sign up fast, because the game is already filling up!
Finally, we'd like to thank all the players, in all the runs, who've turned our ideas into sheer brilliant insanity and chaos. I love this game!
