THE ANTIRACISM, PRORECONCILIATION INITIATIVE IN YOUR CONGREGATION?
The Antiracism, Proreconciliation (ARPR) Team of the Christian Church Capital Area will
send Team members to your congregation to make presentations and/or conduct trainings
about this important initiative of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Visits to your congregation will include presentations and testimonies by Team members,
group exercises, video presentations, and group discussions. |
At the end of the presentations, members of your congregation should have a better understanding of how racism continues to exist in our congregations, and how we might begin to resist its power and transform our churches.
At the end of the introductory trainings, participants will have some of the tools necessary to
analyze existing structures and relationships within the church, and to begin the process of
transforming the church into an anti-racist/pro-reconciliation institution. |
We hope the Spirit of God moves you to join us in struggling against the demonic power of racism,
and that you will work with us and others as we together, and with Godís help, find ways to counter
the evil power of racism and its subtle distortion of the identity and mission of the church.
Together, and with God's help, we can counter racism and live together in an antiracist,
proreconciling region of congregations.
To schedule a presentation, workshop, or training in your congregation or for a group within
your congregation, please contact Rev. Brenda Cardwell (chair of the ARPR Team) at
