The Rev. Dr. Ken Brooker Langston is an ordained minister in the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
He is a graduate of
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (BA),
The University of Chicago
Divinity School (M. Div),
and Emory University in Atlanta, GA (Ph. D).
Besides serving as the co-convener of DAWN
(Disciples Advocacy and Witness Network),
Ken also carries out his ministry as the Director of the
Disciples Justice Action Network (DJAN)
and the coordinator of the Disciples Center for Public Witness.
He also serves as the the Board co-chair of
Equal Partners in Faith,
the co-facilitator of Protestant Justice Action,
a member of the Justice and Advocacy Commission
of the National Council of Churches,
a member of the Board of Directors at the
Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice,
a member of the Advisory Board of
Interfaith Voices/Faith Matters Radio,
a founding member of the
National Religious Leadership Roundtable,
and a member of the Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation Team of the
Christian Church Capital Area .
Before his work for the Center and DJAN, Ken served as the National Field Director at
Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and,
before that, as the Director of Education and Religious Outreach at
The Interfaith Alliance.
Ken is married to Emily Hope Brooker Langston, a professor at
St. John's College
in Annapolis, MD. Emily and Ken are the proud parents of their seven-year-old daughter,
Rachael Elizabeth Brooker Langston.
The Brooker Langstons are members of
National City Christian Church in Washington, DC,
and St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis, MD.
They are also associate members of Pilgrimage Christian Church in Suitland, MD.
