Welcome to District 8 Online

     District 8 is home to 3800 members of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). Our District includes five ACBL Units and covers parts of four Midwest states:

      Illinois  (all counties outside the Chicago metro area)

      Indiana (northern third)

      Missouri  (eastern half)

      Kentucky  (western tip)

Fall Club Calendar

Autumn is a busy season for bridge clubs in District 8. Plan now to visit your local clubs and take advantage of the increased masterpoint awards at these special events:

ACBLwide Instant Matchpoint game -- Wednesday, September 9

    This popular event features instant scoring, nationwide rankings, hand records and analysis booklets. Masterpoint awards are sectional-rated (red and black points), with one gold point for a section top in each direction at each club. A list of participating clubs is here.

Club Appreciation Month -- October 1-31

    During the month of October, clubs throughout ACBL can host a sectional-rated club championship (black points, with 5% gold for section tops). Check with your club manager for dates of the games in your area.

District 8 Charity Week -- October 4-10

    During this week, District 8 clubs can run charity games to support Youth Bridge Camp in Carlinville IL. Awards are 100% sectional rating (black points). For more information about how your club can participate, contact Karl at kdencker@sbcglobal.net .

District 8 Sectional-at-Clubs -- November 2-8

     Win sectional-rated silver points at your local club in District 8's annual Fall Sectional-at-Clubs week. Percentage scores will be compared from all club games at each session, giving you the opportunity to win as many as 15 silver points for placing overall. Conditions of contest are on the District 8 STAC page, which will also post scores from all clubs during STAC week.
