The Supporting Organizations of Diversicon 16 |

The following organizations provided support for Diversicon 16: KRUSHENKO’S (since 1983), inspired by a Manhattan bistro in Ringworld by Larry Niven, is a floating space for beings who like to spend time at SF conventions really talking about science fiction and fantasy. At Diversicon, Krushenko’s is the site of films, discussions, and readings in the daytime and parties hosted by SF groups Friday and Saturday nights. To find Krushenko's in other times and spaces, see signage and/or Program Book listings at the coming year’s Arcana, MarsCon, Minicon, OdysseyCon, WisCon, CONvergence, and of course Diversicon 17.
Since its founding on January 29, 1983, SECOND FOUNDATION, a group for the serious discussion of speculative and science fiction as literature and social speculation, meets at approximately six-week intervals, usually Sundays (currently 2:00 PM). Each meeting centers around a discussion topic—usually the work of a particular SF writer. We talk about both the acknowledged giants in the field and interesting lesser-known writers. At Twin Cities SF conventions, we have on many occasions sponsored discussions of the work of a Guest of Honor with the author present and participating. Outside of conventions, our formal discussions last about two hours, after which we hang out, order pizza, and watch science fiction, horror, and related DVDs/videos (often in preparation for our film panels at Diversicon!).
