The International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (IRCHA) is an association for R/C model helicopter enthusiasts.  It is chartered by the AMA  (Academy of Model Aeronautics) as a  S.I.G. (Special Interest Group).

IRCHA welcomes members at any R/C helicopter skill level!  Current AMA membership is required for U.S. members.  Check the IRCHA web site for information.

Many volunteers are needed in various capacities to make the organization effective.  Anyone  interested in helping in any way or in corresponding should contact any IRCHA Officer through the IRCHA web site.  

IRCHA members and officers are often asked what they feel is the "best" R/C helicopter for beginners.  The IRCHA Executive Committee has decided that the official answer to this question is: Find someone that fly's RC helicopters near you, or learn what is the most prevalent model in your area.  This will most likely be a beginner's best choice for picking a model on which he will be able to learn to fly - since he will be able to get help in the process.  Individual members, officers, or non-affiliated helicopter pilots may be more favorable to one brand over another.   Ask questions!
