ARLENE B.HAFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
How many times do we want to offer special recognition toward a friend or family member? Maybe a birthday, wedding anniversary, special moment from the past, or death of someone we know. Our suggestion is to honor them with "a gift of education to some deserving young person from one of our county schools". $750.00 is the total scholarship award we offer and if you make a contribution of any size you are assuring we can continue to offer this annual scholarship now and in the future. Your check to either Virginia Springman or Bill Hill will be entered in the scholarship fund and those you honor will get a card noting that you made a contribution (the amount of the contribution will not be noted.) Call Virginia Springman at 494-0077 or Bill Hill at 323-7546 and they can tell you how to make your contribution or just follow the form below.

2009 Recipient
Tamara Miller
Montoursville Area High School Student
Receives 2009 Hafer Scholarship!Miss Tamara Miller, a recent Montoursville High School graduate, was selected as the recipient of the 2009 Arlene B. Hafer Memorial Scholarship. An academically talented student, she will pursue a degree in elementary education at Bloomsburg University. The scholarship, named for Mrs. Arlene B. Hafer, a long time and beloved teacher and principal in the Williamsport school district, and a past president of LCCPASR, is in the amount of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00). Tamara is pictured below with her mother, Vicki, and guidance counselor, Edward Claudius at the award ceremony which took place during LCCPASR’s June Luncheon.
The membership of LCCPASR wishes Tamara much success in the years ahead.
While in high school, Tamara was a member of the marching and concert bands, Spanish Club, SADD, and also served as treasurer of the Art Club. Active in her church, she sings in the choir, plays in the bell choir, and participates in the puppet ministry. She enjoys babysitting and, when she has a free moment, loves to go bike-riding.
