Instrumental Rental/Dealers
Instruments may be rented at any time after receiving confirmation from the instrumental music teacher. Instruments must be rented by the first lesson (see instrumental calendar). For rental stores you may look in the yellow pages under Instrumental Music - Dealers. I recommend the rental/purchase plan which allows you to rent while at the same time paying to eventually purchase the instrument if you decide to do so in the future. Look for a repair plan to go with your package. I would suggest pricing at least three different stores. If one store is significantly below the others, be careful of gimmicks or poor quality instruments.
See recommended instrument brands for help in selecting a reputable brand of instrument. I strongly discourage the outright purchase of an instrument. Instruments purchased over the internet or from discount stores are often poor in quality and carry no guarantee. If you already own an instrument I would be happy to look over it and appraise its condition.
