Permission form for the PGCPS Elementary Solo and Ensemble Festival

Dear Parent/Guardian:

             Your son/daughter has expressed interest in participating in the Prince George ’s County Elementary Solo and Ensemble Festival. The Festival will be held on (TBD).

             Each soloist and ensemble member will be scheduled to play for an adjudicator. Each entry will receive verbal and written comments in addition to a rating. Piano accompaniment must be used when called for by the composer. Failure to do so will result in a mandatory reduction of the rating by one grade. Recorded accompaniments are not acceptable.

             The festival should provide a positive experience for participating students. Parental support and encouragement are key to the success of each participant. It is the responsibility of all registered participants to attend the festival.

            You will receive your child’s performance time and other details approximately two weeks before the festival. You will need to purchase the book that your child is playing the solo/ensemble out of as soon as possible. I will provide you with those details as soon as possible.
