Danae on our first date! She's reviewing the rules to MouseTrap as she sets up the board for play. Isn't she just SOOO cute!!! Obvious why I fell for her, eh?

Here are all of the attendees of that first date, Naomi Frandsen, Lloydel Johansen, Jerry, and Danae. Danae is hiding Lloydel's face, in this goofy pose. (The jury is still out whether that is a good thing or not ... just kidding Lloydel!)

Here we are, the two of us on that first date! At this point we had NO clue what was ahead for the two of us! ;)

And here we are three years later, happy as can be, after having been married for almost a year!!!
What happened this week ...

En vogue with the rest of the Fails family, Danae & I have finally decided to get our newsletter up and going. Since we don't have any kids yet, it might not be as exciting as the other two newsletters (the Fails' website and the North's website), but oh well, it's a nice way for us to stay in touch with all the people we care about. (Plus it's a great idea for family history, this way we can keep at least some record, since journal writing unfortunately is not my forte.) Any way, we look forward to giving you updates and some pictures of what we are up to.

To start off this newsletter, this week we celebrated a special three year anniversary. Three years ago, on Friday the 13th in July, Danae and I went on our first date. Little did we know what was ahead of us — two years of dating (mostly :)) and now almost one year of marriage. We celebrated this momentous occasion this last Tuesday. Danae helped celebrate by making waffles for breakfast, and then Friday, for our date, we went to Montpelier Mansion in Laurel, where we watched Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors in the park.

Last weekend we had the pleasure of visiting Matt & Joanne's home in Washington, Pennsylvania. Amy was there visiting and it was especially great to see her, since it had been a while since we'd seen her, and because there are so many new developments in her life right now. (Unfortunately, Danae & I both forgot our cameras, but there are some on the North's website.) It was great to be with family. Jojo, Amy and I even had, what was for me, a nostalgic game of PIG. We enjoyed playing with all of the beautiful North girls. (Madeline is quite the cute chunk!) We enjoyed church and a hearty lunch with the family, before we rushed back to DC to perform in a patriotic concert with the Washington Family Theater Singers at the Washington DC Visitor Center.

We are also anxiously awaiting our trip to Utah. I personally can't believe how close it is. We look forward to seeing family and friends there (including Amy's fiancé, Colby)!

We love you all and look forward to our more constant contact via our website. As you may notice, we are trying to add some older archives (that will mostly have pictures with captions). Please feel free to visit our site, and to email us and let us know how you are! In that regard, Danae & I also have a new email addresses: djfails@att.net for both of us, and dfails@att.net and jfails@att.net, for each of us respectively.

Best wishes to all!

Love,
Jerry & Danae
