Mom Fails was working on organizing her photos from growing up. We got to see pics of old boyfriends, high school friends, etc.

What happened this week ...

We drove back from Capitol Reef Friday mid-day. Oma had generously loaned us her car, so we wanted to give it back in the best condition. We washed the outsides of her car & the Nissan too, then vaccuumed out Oma's car for her. Mom made delicious grilled hamburgers for dinner, afterwhich we went to Deanna's brithday party. Jerry & I manned the pinata, and came home with some good loot. We settled back in the Fails basement to watch the Olympics opening ceremony with Amy & Mom. Saturday morning Jerry drove up to SLC to play a round of golf with his old roommate Dave, who will be married on the 17th of Sep. Meanwhile, Danae went up against the task of cleaning out her room at her parents house. Having been out of the room for several years, it wasn't too hard to part with a lot of stuff. What was worth saving has been stowed neatly. Whew. When Jerry returned from golfing, we enjoyed a family lunch at Tucanos. Jerry had golf on the mind, so he suggested a friendly round of mini-golf. We went to Cascade, where he & Dad beat the women pretty well. It was really hot, and Mom & I took every chance to dip our feet into the pools and water traps to cool off.

Saturday night we hosted a get-together for our family & friends. It was great to see everyone! Sunday we got to join Mom's ward choir to sing in sacrament meeting. The rest of our Sunday was filled with packing, eating and visiting. Early Monday morning Dad and Mom drove us up to the airport. It was a wonderful visit, and hard to leave! One bonus about our return home was getting bumped from the stretch of our flight from Atlanta to D.C. We only had to wait an extra 1.5 hours, but we got $200 Delta credit each!

Love,
Danae & Jerry
