What happened this week ... Millie and Mark Harper drove up to visit us after the Harper family reunion in North Carolina. We enjoyed their short but fun-filled visit. Sunday after church & dinner, we visited the Cathedral, nearly all of the monuments, and the Old Post Office Tower. This was Millie's first time in the Capital, so we had to pack in as much as possible. Monday we visited the Smithsonian's American History & Natural History museums, and ended the day with a ride up the Washington Monument. OK, well, we did go to IKEA after that too. (What's a trip to D.C. without a visit to IKEA?) After dinner they drove back to NC, where they flew home from Tuesday morning. Tuesday was a big day for Danae. She had an interview with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The position is a forest conservation/street tree monitoring/mapping job. She is one of only 3 candidates, so even if she doesn't get the job, she can feel good about getting that close! We'll keep you posted. Thursday night we fed the senior sister missionaries, who are fairly new to our ward.
