Calista on the lawn of the College Park Ward chapel after her baby blessing. Her beautiful blessing dress was handmade with love by Grandma Peggy.

Of course, the real highlight of this Father's Day was that Calista Pearl Fails was blessed in Sacrament meeting.  We had so many friends and family come and show their love for us and cute Calista!  Thank you so very much!!!  We love you all!

What are you looking at?  I don't know where she gets such curly hair (only manifest when it is wet).

Will and Katie Mincey, our good friends in the ward, were sealed at the DC Temple and we were able to participate and celebrate with them on this very exciting occasion.  They were baptized just over a year ago and have such strong testimonies!

Calista wearing one of Daddy's favorite outfits.  (I wonder why he likes it so much?)  You may also see the neon colored Band-Aids she is sporting after her 2-month immunizations. She was an amazing trooper!

Calista has learned to enjoy her "fluttering chimes".  One of her latest tricks is batting and grabbing the butterflies, especially the purple one.

We took Janey Cunningham out to eat as a friendly farewell before her move to California.  Janey is a wonderful friend of ours who has lived in our ward for the past two years.  We are all sad to see her go, but Danae is especially sad because she was such a great friend!  We wish her all the best!

Calista loves to have her arms up, eat her fist ... and of course, to smile!

Calista loves to dance, yes, even on the kitchen table  ...

... (and Daddy is even encouraging, what kind of a father is he!?!?)

Maybe he's a sucker for a cute little girl ...

My desk all packed up because we are moving the HCIL labs to another building to a more consolidated space.

These are just some of the boxes of our lab.  Once the new lab is set up I'll post pictures. It is kind of said saying goodbye to a place that was your "home", but hopefully the new one will turn out to be a good change.

Calista stayed late at work with Daddy while he was helping with the move, preparing for his class, and while Mommy was exercising in her H20bics class.

This is one of her latest expressions – notice the three lips!

A fun story – what you might not be able to see is a mouse caught in a trap underneath one of our AC units.  Yes, we had a mouse in our house this week! Needless to say we did a lot of fun cleaning and making sure this cannot occur again.  Oh, the joys of apartment living – and just life in general. :)

Just smiling away in her swing in her sweats.

Six years ago on a Friday the 13th of July, Danae and Jerry went on their first date together.  Being Friday the 13th again for us this July it was very special! :)  We celebrated by going to a community activity – the Hyattsville Summer Jam at the local municipal building.  There was music and great BBQ food.  Calista showed off some of her latest dance moves!

She also showed off her tongue, which she likes to do these days.  It is long and skinny (another Mommy trait).

What happened this week ...

So we are already far behind ... don't worry we have done lots of fun things, we have also been busy. Most importantly of all, Calista is growing even more beautiful.

Besides the wild night at the Hyattsville Summer Jam for Friday the 13th, we also celebrated National Cow Appreciation Day. The campus Chic-Fil-A gave away free food to anyone dressed like a cow, so we went there for lunch. Calista happens to own a cow outfit (thanks Grandma Peggy!) so she entered the 'Cutest Cow' contest, and has a good shot at winning Chic-Fil-A food for a whole semester! We'll have pictures in a few days, and we'll surely let you know if she wins.

Love,
Jerry & Danae
