Instructions for Installing the Presentations files. You should have downloaded packagepr.zip - The complete suite of packages, style sheet and documentation. In Mathematica evaluate $BaseDirectory or $UserBaseDirectory. This will give you a Mathematica folder that contains an Applications folder. The Applications folder is the place to install the Presentations package. 1) Select the downloaded zip file and RIGHT drag it to the Applications folder. 2) Choose: Extract to the Applications folder (not the Presentations of packagepr folder). 3) If you are updating a previous version choose to replace all files. (I am not familiar with unzipping on MacOSX but have been told that it automatically unzips files and puts the folder in the Download directory. You just need to drag it to the Applications folder.) At the conclusion your should have the structure: Mathematica\Applications \Presentations (package files) \FrontEnd \StyleSheets (ParkStyle6.nb) \Documentation \English (Help Documentation files and notebooks) The ParkStyle6 style sheet should automatically appear in the Menu -> Format -> Stylesheets menu. It is used for the Presentations examples. IMPORTANT, you must rebuild the Help Index! In Version 6 it is done in the following manner: When you start Mathematica use Menu -> Help -> Documentation Center -> Installed Add-Ons and click on Presentations. You should do this each time you install a new package or update an existing package. (You do NOT use the search box at the top of Documentation Center. The Installed Add-Ons link is in red on the lower right side of the Documentation Center page. When clicked it brings up a new page called Installed Add-Ons. Presentations should appear on this page. If Presentations does not appear here then this is almost certainly caused by unzipping to the wrong folder and getting an extra level of directory between Applications and Presentations. This is most likely to be a packagepr folder or a duplicate Presentations folder. In such a case Mathematica will not find the package. If this happens move the package back up to the Applications folder and delete the empty extra folder.) You can access the documentation by following the same path. The package is loaded with Needs["Presentations`Master`"] After the package is loaded you can also access the Help browser by evaluating PresentationsHelp within a notebook. Since I seldom use the previous versions of DrawGraphics I have an InertApplications folder, which I created, and put them there along with other packages I am not actively using. Once you are confident about Presentations you can just delete the old packages. If you have Cardano3 its functionality has been built in to Presentations and is no longer uaseful. _______________________________________________________________ That should work.
