Photographic postcard of The Arena, published by M.L. Oakes. The Arena was owned by John L. Sullivan, and featured many boxing and wrestling matches in its ring. In the left foreground is a postcard stand of the type found throughout the Pay Streak. M.L.Oakes was a successful commercial photographer who published copies of many official photographs; it is possible that he worked for Nowell (the official photographer ) at the fair.
