I have it in templates.txt under myRadioTrials, and I uploaded it! Why doesn't it work? Why? Why? (ROTFSF - rad "Rolling on the floor stamping my feet and having a tantrum, in my mind of course)

So far, I really like Radio. It's taught me about News Aggregagting, about permalinking, about Templates, and some about Comments (I still wish there was a notification mechanism for when someone posts a comment somewhere in your weblog. If it's not right at the top, chances are I'll miss it for several days, weeks, or perhaps altogether)....

Radio Userland Feeds Found Lacking. Well, the results are in, and the outcome isn't looking too nice for Radio Userland feeds. I have quietly ranted about the poor quality of the Radio's RSS for a long time, but now, it is time for me to come out of the closet. Over half of headline it...
Good Source for RSS News and Feeds. "Jenny Levine" points me to two great RSS info sources -- one that covers events and news in the growing RSS arena, and a new source for over 180 custom RSS feeds.

Category Comments Function Back In Operation

Well, I just created new categories, used the same theme, went back and got the dates of the things I had posted to them, added the comment tag to each of the new category's itemTemplate, and all have working comments now. I deleted all for the former categories once I copied all the posts to the new ones, which was easy. All I had to do was: While both Categories were still alive, the old one being renamed to old whatever, then I just edited the old post, checked onthe box for the new category to put it in, and it gets added to the new category in the right timeslot.

I've been told that there was no notification features for Radio site editors who want to know when and where a comment has been posted. It seems that since the discussion board Radio uses at http://radio.userland.com/discuss/ has this feature as a checkbox that enables
"Receive direct responses to the message on this page via email." , there should be something similar for comment posts. I already have, after just a few days, way too many posts to easily spy new comments, not to mention any attached to already archived articles.

It seems that Categories need to be further integrated into Radio. It seems the only thing they allow you to do is post separate bliogs to it and create a separate News feed/xml file. They DO NOT, as far as I have experienced it or understood as of yet: Thery don't allow you to send mail that posts to them......they don't give you an index.html page like the Stories list does, and they don't , as someone else here pointed out, have a separate stories list for each category.

Is there a ViewCategories macro that I can use for a categories root file index.txt?

right now I have one that has this:

<%radio.macros.viewCategoryList ()%>

which obviously isn't legit, cuz I get this when I go to it:

[Macro error: Can't call the script because the name "viewCategoryList" hasn't been defined.]

Is what I'm after something doable? Or better yet, has it been done?

Using the basic Radio template to make it belnd in with the Radio Support Area, I am uploading a Category to post my trials. tribulations, and joys concerning the use of Radio as a blogging tool. So far, so good.....

I just got an idea for another good Category (again, as I understand the proper or intended use of Categories, which may well be a "Newbie" misunderstanding), which is: My own Radio setup struggles and discoveries. I had my first "Comment" posted on the 7th, which went unnoticed by me , and so I offer my first suggestion or item on my RadioWishList: a notifier for Comment postings (which may already exist, my being a newbie and all). Any such thing?

The Category is there, but that poses another question or wish: Sub Categories and a "Category" Home Page. Anyway or add-on already developed? I also want a way to easily post the link (I have to guess based on the name of the Category, and remove the spaces.
