I bought this Sea Pearl from the second owner August 6, 1998. Mr. Mitchell bought it from one of the 3 original Partners that designed the Sea Pearl Hull . Hull # MCH00001M79 was finished in 1980 as the first Sea Pearl. It originally had lee boards but was retrofitted with a center board trunk , but they left the mounting and backing plates for the lee boards. The rudder was a barn door type , and I made a kick up rudder for her. Other than that it is in original shape. It is a true double ender ,on later models they cut about 6 inches off the stern and flattened the transom so a motor could be attached .
