FRICKEL

First Frickel Family in Kautz:

The FIRST FRICKEL was Conrad FRICKEL (1725), Reformed Faith, farmer from Kurpfalz, Otenheim? Village, arrived in Oranienbaum (not far from Saint Petersburg) on 25 July 1766 by the ship under the command of Sorner. They arrived in Kautz Colony on 20 July 1767. His first wife, Sophia, died before 1768. His second wife, Maria Ventlina, born 1747, was the mother of the children. His son Johann Conrad Frickel, moved to Bauer Colony in 1800. His son Georg Ernst moved to Kolb Colony in 1808. Pleve did not name the ship, but it must be the ship 'Mercury', and the 'Mercury was also under the command of Sorner', as stated by Pleve on the Ostwald genealogy, but arrived on a different date.
