Y’S MEN BLIND REHABILITATION TRUST

This Trust was established in December 1993, to deal with the finances relating to the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind. The permanent members of the Trust are Ysm. Mr. N. Gnanamani, Ysm. M.K.M. Parameswaran, and Ysm. Dr. Rajulan Lysander, Ysm. Dr. Jeevan is the Trust’s Secretary, Ysm. N. Selvarajan is its Treasurer and Ysm. R. Rajamani is the Honorary Secretary of the Trust. Ysm. T.R. Rajaraman has generously offered to maintain the accounts. The Trust is exempt from Income Tax according to the Madurai Income Tax Office Order No. 464/62/92 from 30.12.2002 – 31.3.2005.

The Founders of the Trust are Ysm. Thomas Zachariah, Ysm. M.K.M.Parameswaran and Ysm. Dr. Rajulan Lysander. Later,Ysm. Gnanamani replaced Thomas Zachariah as Ysm. Zachariah was transferred and left Virudhunagar. The Founders of the Trust signed the indenture in December 3^rd 1993. The indenture also confirms that the Trust is a Public Charitable Trust without any profit motive and for the benefit of all persons irrespective of race, caste, creed or religion. The Founders of the Trust have decided to donate a sum of Rs. 333 each, aggregating to Rs. 999 to be the nucleus of the Trust.

Objects of the Trust

The Y’s Men Blind Rehabilitation Trust has been formed

To rehabilitate visually impaired boys and girls and to provide them with all forms of help so that they are better equipped to lead independent lives.

To impart education to the visually impaired and make them literate.

To give them basic training in cottage industries like mat weaving, candle making, incense sticks making, basket weaving etc.

To help the students pursue further studies in school and college and help them prepare and appear for competitive exams.

To establish, maintain, develop and improve schools and training institutions for the benefit of the visually impaired.

To supply food either at no cost or at a subsidized rate to the students so that they may be able to study, learn a skill and become self-reliant.

To provide clothing and other basic necessities for the needy blind students.

To provide medical care to the visually handicapped students.

To do everything required, within the boundaries of the law, to pursue the goals and objects of the Trust, in accordance with the spirit and principles of the Trust.
