Barnes & Noble Captain Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) and his ragtag crew continue in their quest to reunite the Commonwealth in Season 2 of the syndicated sci-fi series Andromeda. This season, the Andromeda Ascendant's search for new Commonwealth planets becomes desperate, as they learn in the season opener "The Widening Gyre" that a Magog Worldship will reach Known Earth within two years -- at which point the millions of hungry Magog parasites aboard will feed. Hunt also discovers that Tyr (Keith Hamilton Cobb) and Harper (Gordon Michael Woolvett) are infected with Magog eggs, and while Trance (Laura Bertram) can remove the infestation within Tyr, removing them from Harper would kill him. The Nietzcheans play a large role throughout several episodes this season as well: in "Una Salas Victas," Hunt and Tyr infiltrate a Nietzchean stronghold; in "Immaculate Perception," Tyr learns that he has a son that may be the Nietzchean messiah; and in "Into the Labyrinth," Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumnus James Marsters guest-stars as Charlemagne Bolivar, an unlikely Nietzchean ally. The season finale, "The Tunnel at the End of the Light," wraps up the Commonwealth story arc when 50 member worlds sign the first charter aboard the Andromeda, but an uninvited alien race threatens the peacemaking. Notable guest appearances this season include William B. Davis and Bruce Harwood, both known for their acting stints on The X-Files, and Michael Hurst, best known for co-starring alongside Sorbo as Iolaus in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
