- Objectives:
- Intermediate Algebra &
Trigonometry is a continuation of Introductory
Algebra. Therefore, the overall objectives are
similar. Algebra is an important subject to comprehend
if one wants to have any hope of understanding
chemistry, physics, and more advanced mathematics.
This course is also a good vehicle to explore logic
and logical systems.
- Specific Objectives:
- A student should be able to:
- add, subtract, and multiply
polynomials;
- factor polynomials of the
forms:
and

- recognize and perform special
factors;
- add, subtract, multiply, and
divide rational expressions;
- solve rational
equations;
- simplify fractional
exponents;
- convert between fractional
exponents and radicals;
- simplify radicals;
- add, subtract, multiply and
divide radicals;
- simplify multiplication and
