Book Wantlist

Welcome to my old football card wantlist.  The main focus of this page has always been my collection of Los Angeles Rams team sets.  When I got back into collecting almost 10 years ago, I was in need of almost everything Topps and Bowman related.  I started out with a huge list:  Bowman from '48 through '55, Topps from '56 through '80 and Philadelphia Gum from 1964 through 1967.  In 1996 I got a computer and hit the 'net and soon joined OBC (a group of guys that collect cards for the love of collecting).  Pretty soon cards I'd only dreamed of started showing up in my mailbox.

Many years later, my Rams list has gotten pretty darn small.  The Bowmans are proving to be very pesky, but I'm patient - they'll eventually trickle in.  The Topps lists have been decimated.  The Philly Gums are almost done, just a few to go.

As the Ram lists got smaller, I decided to go after a few complete sets here & there.  I'm mainly concentrating on all sets from the '70s.  There are a couple done, with lots of work to go on the rest.  There's also a 1969 set thrown in for good measure - not sure why I started it; I think I found a decent sized starter lot on eBay or something.

Condition of any card issued prior to 1980 isn't important, as long as it can be recognized as once having been a football card. This can include any that were used to make your bike sound like a Harley, cards edited with a pen, pencil or crayon (mustaches, new team names, blackened teeth, birth-control glasses), and cards otherwise enhanced with things like sandpaper, water, glue, drills, hole punches or darts. Cards with rips, creases, missing pieces and tape damage also qualify. Want a laugh?  Read the Guru's card grading guide, found here.  It pretty much sums up what true card collecting is all about.

As for cards issued after 1980, since they can usually be found in great condition, I would prefer them to be as close to mint as possible.  Thanks in advance for any help, and thanks for looking over my wantlist!
