GUIDELINES FOR CHAPTER FIRST VICE PRESIDENT  

Duties of First Vice President:

1. To perform the duties of the President if she/he is absent or disabled.
2. To serve as Rush Chair. Set dates for Perspective Member Ceremony, Membership Training, and the Initiation Ceremony. You are the one who will organize rush and initiation activities with the assistance and support of the entire chapter

You will find a special RUSH & INITIATION PACKET in the fall supplies that your chapter receives in the early fall. That packet will include guidelines and forms needed for prospective member activities. Those and other rush materials may be found in the IB MANUAL:

 3.  To serve as Trainer and organize the Prospective Member Class as suggested in the PROSPECTIVE MEMBERSHIP TRAINING MAUNUAL. For the correct prospective member training and initiation procedures refer to those found in the RUSH & INITIATION PACKET. They will include:

• IB 211:  This is a step-by-step outline, explanation, and checklist of the prospective member and initiation procedures. Please follow it carefully. It is most important that everything listed in these instructions be sent to the Province President and Executive Secretary in the order in which they are listed.
• PROSPECTIVE MEMBERSHIP TRAINING MANUAL: Study this manual carefully. If the prospective members are educated well and with enthusiasm, they will be more loyal and become effective Delta Omicron members. It is up to you. The chapter should have manuals available for each Prospective Member. Manuals may be downloaded and printed from the Fraternity CD send in fall supplies.
• DELTA OMICRON HAZING POLICY:  Be sure to make both chapter members and prospective members aware of the Delta Omicron Hazing Policy before training begins each term. That policy may be found in the Appendix section of the Training Manual and on the Fraternity CD.

If you need anything for your prospective member training and initiation,
please notify your Province President, who will see that you get the necessary materials.
