Known mainly for his journals, short stories and humor articles, the poetry and academic publications of Don Gillette have often taken a back seat, being released in limited markets to a limited audience.

Here we bring you a sampling of Don's work in all genres; his three poetry collections, Bourbon Street Memory, Walking By The Nightpath, and the critically acclaimed The Face In The Mirror Is Not Mine, plus two of Don's chapbooks, Monkey Head Fallout and In The Land of the Koonga Girls. You will also find selected literary articles from the Journal of American Folklore, humor from The Wilson County Advocate, and an assortment of writings from other lesser known periodicals.

Don was born and raised on the Atlantic coast and lives with his wife, Sim Yoon, owner of Yoonique™ Jewelry Design, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Don's poetry reflects on life through a wide range of emotions and offers a unique glimpse into the shared recollection of common experience. While he continues to insist, "anyone can do it...it's just typing" his use of everyday imagery and situation is much like the proverbial "silver bullet" that strikes the reader right between the eyes.

Don's articles for the "Political Funnies" page of the now-defunct Wilson County Advocate endeared him to some readers and brought death threats from others. Ranging from the absurd to the sublime, the articles were so popular that reprints are still in demand.
