Our Kitchen Renovation


The 80's something kitchen had to go! Before demolition All gone! All gone!  What a mess The new kitchen seen from the French door coming in the back off the deck. Six large storage cabinets under custom window eliminated the need for a corner pantry This craftsman era clock contains the songbirds tile insert, which is seen again in the kitchen above the oven This TECO "double gourd" was one of my Christmas presents.  The scale is huge, and it fits the scale of the kitchen and the pantry cabinets. This structure was created to house a pan drawer and the combo JennAir convection oven and microwave. The construction eliminates wasted space, and it's easy to see what in the cabinet "The Alligator" by Walter Ingals Anderson. This is a colorized black and white litho corner view, featuring the Quoizebel pendant lighting The cabinets above the refrigerator are actually pull out drawers.  Everything comes out into plain view Robert created the "crown" across all upper cabinets.  Truly fit for a queen. One of the many joys of custom cabinets is that everything fits to your house.  All these cabinets were built the same size that fit the space available The corner cabinet is L shaped, and has beveled glass windows.  It maximizes the use of the space in the corner.  The granite counter tops below are down lit with small hallogens mounted to the bottom of the cabinet.  There are 3 art tile inserts into the backsplash.  The tile for the backsplash is a 4X8" subway tile. 6x6" tile insert in the craftsman style Eliminating the cooktop and microwave allowed for much more uninterruped counter and cabinet space The old window was saved, and the trim was redone in dark stained oak.  The sashes are painted white, and have large brass hardware The lower corner cabinet is contains a two-deck lazy Susan, and maximizes storage space.  Hardware was chosen to give simple authenticity to the period Pull outs for the trash and recyclables. JennAir silent dishwasher Above the dishwasher is an exposed plate rack.  Convenient!
