By Doobie ‘Doghouse’ Wilson, written for and performed on the occasion.
Click here to download or run the free mp3. Each verse celebrates one or more of the fabulous musicians who have graced the Oasis stage at Rick Carter's Guitar Pull. I hope this will be a living web page - please send me your .jpg pictures of the evening and I'll post some of them. Also, if you are a musician/singer, let me know the next time you're in Tuscaloosa so that I can record your voice on the chorus and/or replace my lame lead guitar licks with your hot leads :-)

Welcome to the Oasis, we do this every Monday night Kristen’s serving drinks, I hope you’re feelin’ alright Our host is Mr. Carter, he’s the guitar man Welcome to the Guitar Pull – ONE MORE TIME
|
![]() Here I am, Doobie 'Doghouse' Wilson, a regular at the Guitar Pull. Rick's wife, Kristen, always reserved an early spot for me. I can't believe I'm on the same stage as so many great musicians, but Rick always made me feel welcome. |

Mr. Ricky Carter always sings about his roots Birmingham’s the best damn town in all of Alabam’ He might sing about the women, he might sing about the booze But it’s all about the family, don’t you know – ONE MORE TIME

Rick Carter hosted the Guitar Pull for over 10 years. Many musicians cut their musical teeth here and return frequently. With Rick's encouragement and support, many have achieved success, some to international stardom. He hints that something even bigger is in the works.

Mr. Adam Guthrie is a wizard on guitar He’ll join you up on the stage no matter who you are His songs will make you laugh, his songs will make you cry He’s just lookin’ for a rainbow in the sky – ONE MORE TIME
|
![]() Adam Guthrie is a prolific songwriter and guitar virtuoso. One of my favorite songs is "Please Come Out to Play" and you can hear me sing it here. Adam can come up with brilliant accompaniments, even when he's never heard the song before. |
|
Mr. Bo Bice did all us Alabamans proud On the AI show with Southern rock and roll Mr. Taylor Hicks with his blues harp licks Was crowned the king of blue eyed soul – ONE MORE TIME
|
![]() Taylor Hicks poses with me last summer at the Guitar Pull. He just had the #1 song in the country and here he is at an open mic?! He doesn't forget where he came from. |

What can you say about Ms. Mandi Ray And Kendra on the keys, they just blow me away Sometimes when Molly sings she just melts my heart And makes me want to tell her my story – ONE MORE TIME
|
Jason,
Christian, Laura, Annis, and Stacy form Talmadge Lane. Beautiful
harmonies and compelling songs. The ladies are well represented at the
Guitar Pull. Mandi Ray, Kendra, and Molly have all gone pro with
recordings and tours. |

John’s got his Mojo workin’, dishin’ up his gumbo rock I hear shades of Moody Blues from Instrumental Overdrive Ricky Carden crushed me, Nathan’s songs all touched me Hugh, Heath, Allen all rock – ONE MORE TIME
|
John
and Instrumental Overdrive join me on stage to sing the choir parts of
"One More Time". Adam is playing lead guitar and my drum machine is
pounding out a Latin Jam. It takes confidence to learn a song on stage
and these guys have it. Thanks for many memories! |
