ACCESS
- Teamspeak is the official voice chat program of
the GFL. You can download Teamspeak for free
at
http://www.goteamspeak.com.
- Players MUST log into the TS server using a
player name. If you are new to Teamspeak, please
review this
setup guide to configure Teamspeak with a player
name.
- The official server is for GFL member and
invited guest use only.
- Account registration on Teamspeak is optional,
but recommended.
- Registered accounts are available to any member
that has achieved Rank 15 or higher. Server
registration will allow you to reserve a login name
and nickname for use on the server, set channel
commander status, and let you create temporary chat
rooms. To register with the Teamspeak server,
contact your CO (or any available SA if you are
unable to make arrangements with your CO).
- The use of Teamspeak is a privilege and not a
right. If you abuse it you will lose it. It is here
for all members to enjoy.
GENERAL USAGE
- Abusive behavior may result in punitive action
up to and including, being kicked from the server
and/or banned. In addition to personal attacks, foul
language can be grounds for banning.
- Teamspeak has channels set up for private
discussions with command staff and/or other members.
If you need to speak with them about an issue, then
arrange to meet them in an empty channel. Do not air
your issues in the presence of those to whom it does
not concern.
- Please use a Push-to-Talk button with his or her
TS program, and NOT voice activation. This will cut
down on a lot of needless transmissions such as dogs
barking, phone rings, and colorful gaming
commentary.
- Please refrain from shouting or playing music
down the microphone as this is highly annoying to
others and you may be kicked and/or banned from the
server for doing so.
- Channel spamming and advertising is prohibited
at all times.
- GFL Protocol Always Applies.
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS
The server host and Council of Five reserve all rights
to the administration of the server and retain the
right to deny service to any member of the community.
This right includes the ability to ban a specific
player and/or IP from access to the server.
For non-GFL members and guests, report incidents to
jag@gfluniverse.net.
For GFL members, report incidents to the appropriate
CO first and escalate to the JAG and/or Council as
necessary – follow the chain of command. The Council
of Five has the final say in all decisions affecting
GFL members.
1. Kick Policy:
Our kick policy is simple. For any infraction you will
be politely warned ONCE. If you go on to repeat the
same infraction you will be kicked without further
warning.
2. Ban Policy:
Our ban policy is equally simple. If you should return
to our server after being kicked and repeat the same
offence or commit any offence listed above that is
deemed to be bannable you will be banned without
further warning. DO NOT post appeals or complaints on
the forum. Our Admin SOP requires all Admins to
provide documentary proof to a review panel for
justification of any member ban. If you feel that the
ban was unwarranted and no proof can be provided by
the Admin your ban will be revoked.
We do not kick or ban someone just because they don’t
agree with us or don’t like us. If they are on the
server and playing according to our rules, we have no
reason to harass, or otherwise abuse the player.
However, if they are abusive in the manner that they
disagree with us or any other group on the server,
then the above rules about abusive or vulgar language
apply.
Appeals for GFL Members:
- Any appeals that members wish to make must
follow the chain of command.
- Contact your CO first to file your appeal. If
you can not contact your CO, you may alternatively
contact the JAG office.
- Upon receiving your appeal, the incident will be
reviewed by all appropriate parties and a final
decision will be made.
- If the ban is found to be unjustified, the ban
will be overruled and your account reinstated.
Appeals for Non Members:
- Any appeals that non-members wish to make must
be made in writing to
jag@gfluniverse.net.
- When you email your appeal, please include the
date and time you were banned, the name of the admin
and a screen shot if you have one. Once the email
has been received the review process will begin.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
- Upon receiving your appeal, the incident will be
reviewed and a final decision will be made.
- If the ban is found to be unjustified, the ban
will be overruled and your account reinstated.
