Dud's Plug

This is a Lapstrack version of a PC Dory built by Dud Nelson in 1972. He built many Double enders and used to row through the surf at cannon beach and Falcon cove in the 40's 50s and 60s. before outboards were common place. I spent last summer restoring this boat using CPES I bought from the Rot Doctor in Seattle. This boat is 21 ft. and has Port Orford Cedar ribs. It has a small motor well. It has been in the Ocean but generally speaking it is a river dory.

Owned by Tony Blaszak
Milwaukie Oregon.
Dud Nelson was my uncle.

Duds Plug is the name of the boat as printed on the transom. Dud had several Patended lures marketed by lure jensen.

Here are some fishing pics of some fish we caught out of Ocean Shores, Washington with the dory I built. Her name is Kelly Time. And those are my fishing buddies Mike, and Stewart. - Matt K.

Michael's f/v "Minor Threat"

We run the boat out of Redondo Beach, Ca. It was a 23' Clippercraft that had rotten out in someone's front yard, filled full of rain waters for years. We flipped her upsidedown and replaced each piece of wood systematically. We also built a stringer/rib system and a solid deck. We also fiberglassed the entire boat, mostly with a mat/woven combo which has made it drastically more stable. It still scoots along at 20knts with a 135hp 4cyl volvo I/O. Pretty Cool. - Michael J.
