is Steve Gordenier's 26' Bartender. The picture in the
harbor is at the Port of Hood River. The shot of
Mt. Hood is going up the Columbia above Washougal,
Washington. And the picture of the boat running is up
near Cascade Locks. Pictures submitted by Steve Gordenier Boat info: She was built in 1981 by my father. I got the boat from him in 1992 and have run her since that time primarily on the Columbia River and in the ocean outside the Columbia. She has a 305 OMC inboard engine with a Velvet Drive transmission. The boat will cruise at 20 mph and tops out about 30 mph, depending on load, etc. We have always run her up and down the Columbia, but we do keep her on a trailer in the wintertime, inside a shed so she's out of the weather. The hull is two layers of 5 ply 3/8 inch marine plywood with fiberglass over that. She handles very well in rough weather and loves to run with a following sea. The cabin is a fiberglass design that was made specifically for this boat. I don't know of another like her. It cuts down on the maintenance you'd have with the wood cabin. She sleeps two in a v-berth and has a galley with sink and stove. She also has a head with holding tank. She's been a great boat that has fished from Brookings up to the Columbia for the past 20 years and looking forward to 20 more. |
